Live music at Mandarin Oriental, New York.

Solo violin, jazz piano, and DJ + live violin at the Columbus Circle hotel — weddings, corporate galas, brand launches, and private receptions in the 35th-floor ballroom and grand rooms overlooking Central Park.

The view is the room. The music sits inside it.

The Mandarin's principal event spaces — the Grand Ballroom, the Presidential Room, the Aria Suite, the private dining and terrace suites — read the way they do because of the corner-of-the-park sightlines. The music's job is to add texture to that atmosphere, not compete with it. Julie's default is solo violin for arrivals, jazz piano through seated dinner, and hybrid DJ + live violin for after-dinner dancing — sized to the Mandarin's rooms rather than forced to fill a hotel ballroom in the abstract.

Formats that fit the Mandarin calendar.

Wedding ceremonies — solo violin for the aisle, prelude, processional, and recessional. Low-profile PA sized to the Aria Suite or the ballroom, wireless for outdoor terrace configurations.

Cocktail arrivals in the pre-function spaces — solo violin or jazz piano. The hallway leading into the Grand Ballroom carries acoustic violin cleanly without any reinforcement for gatherings under 100 guests.

Seated dinner — jazz piano at low volume. Julie brings her own keyboard rig; hotel staff does not need to arrange piano access or tuning.

Reception dancing — DJ + live violin, full sound and lighting scaled to the ballroom, with pre-event AV coordination through the Mandarin's event captain.

What the Mandarin's event team cares about.

The Mandarin runs on tight timelines coordinated through the Catering & Conference Services office. Music vendors succeed here by knowing the loading dock schedule, working with the hotel's in-house AV team on the run of show, and staying out of the way of the venue's own staff during setup. Julie coordinates directly with the event captain, joins a production call before large events, and issues COI naming Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group / Mandarin Oriental, New York within 48 hours of a request.
